"These are the type of artists I anticipate working with in the future, and I believe I'm now one step closer to fulfilling my goal of having a professional career doing something I love."

GET INVOLVED
We want you! Help us nurture and support the next generation of artists, the way we supported you...

You can help us inspire young artists. One of the most powerful ways to encourage young artists is for them to meet YoungArts alumni (such as yourself) who were once YoungArts winners. Share your time, your talent, and your stories with this year’s young artists. Help us and help them.

There are several ways to get involved. If you are interested in any of the options listed below, please contact NFAA.

There are many ways to help…

Resident Advisor during NFAA YoungArts Week
Each January up to 160 finalists are invited to participate in a week-long all-expenses-paid trip to Miami. Throughout the years we have turned to our alumni to serve as Resident Advisors. Having experienced YoungArts Week yourself, you can help us continue to create a once in a lifetime experience for these 17- and 18-year-old artists.

Discipline Coordinator during November Adjudications and NFAA YoungArts Week Final Adjudications

In November, the process of selecting NFAA ARTS winners begins as judges from around the nation gather in Miami to review the thousands of submissions received for that year’s NFAA ARTS program. During this crucial time, NFAA recruits nine individuals, one for each artistic discipline, to serve as a Discipline Coordinator. The role of a Discipline Coordinator is to serve as the liaison between the judges and NFAA. After the adjudication process is complete and the winners are chosen, the Discipline Coordinators then return to Miami during NFAA YoungArts Week in January. In Miami they once again serve as the critical link between the panelists who review the finalists and NFAA.

Perform at NFAA Events

The alumni of YoungArts are a true testament to the important role that NFAA plays in the arts in America. Throughout the year NFAA has many different events at which our alumni are invited to perform. These events range from small gatherings to our annual An Affair of the Arts performance and gala. We are always interested in exposing our Board Members, donors, and supporters to the talent of our alumni.

School Visits
As an alumnus of YoungArts you are the most effective representative of our program. Therefore, by visiting high schools in your area and explaining our program to prospective participants, you can be the inspiration for young artists to apply to YoungArts. With your help we can ensure that young ARTS continues to grow into the premier arts organization in the nation.

Participate in a YoungArts Fest

YoungArts Fests are formal presentations given by NFAA staff and performances given by YoungArts alumni within the nation’s schools. These celebrations of the arts are a valuable tool in engaging America’s young artists to participate in our program and use their talent to hopefully become part of the NFAA family...

Bio Listing
You can help us make YoungArts awards a nationally recognized honor by listing your award in your bio and resume. The more that we can get the word out about YoungArts and how many young artists’ lives it has affected, the more NFAA will become embedded in contemporary American culture.

Stay in Touch

Your success is, truly, our success! Your accomplishments not only help us promote YoungArts, they can inspire hundreds of other young artists and build support for YoungArts programs. Please keep us updated by sending your most current bio, resume and happenings to the Alumni Relations Manager at
